Op-Ed: In Opposition of the PRO Act

One of the greatest threats to America’s economic recovery and future growth is currently being debated in Congress. The PRO Act, a bill which seeks to undermine workers’ rights to privacy and free association, would create a one-size-fits-all rewrite of labor laws in 50 states, hurting workers across the United States, including here in Loudoun County.
First, the PRO Act would eliminate Right-To-Work laws in all states, ending the sacred protection of a worker’s freedom to choose to join a union or not. Repealing Right-To-Work would force employees to either pay union dues or be fired, whether they wish to be represented by the union or not. ....

Virginia’s use of the death penalty dates back over 400 years to 1608, when Jamestown settlers carried out the first recorded execution in the then-European colonies. In the centuries since, amid periods of slavery, Reconstruction and Jim Crow segregation, Virginia has executed hundreds of people; since 1976, Virginia has executed 113 people, a higher percentage of death row inmates than any other U.S. state, and the highest number of state executions second only to Texas. ....

Candidate Kenny Boddye addresses the Prince William Board of County Supervisors three weeks before being elected to represent the Occoquan District.
In the final weeks of his campaign to become the next Occoquan District Supervisor, Kenny Boddye addressed the governing board on which he would soon be elected.
“Every dollar we spend on the rural crescent, to develop it and put houses out there, is a dollar that we can’t put toward schools in the eastern end [of Prince William County] where we have some of the oldest schools in the region,” Boddye said on October 15, 2019. ....
