LUFKIN, Texas One person is dead after a three-vehicle crash Wednesday night in Lufkin.
According to Lufkin police, at 8:45 p.m., officers responded to the accident on North Timberland Drive in front of Insta-Cash Pawn.
Officials say a Gabriel Galindo, 32, of Lufkin was driving a Cadillac Escalade with his 11, 9 and 7-year-old children in the vehicle. His wife, Maria Galindo, 32, was following behind in a Jeep Liberty.
As the vehicles sat in the turn lane, a Nissan Altima, driven by Ashley Huffhines, 34, of Lufkin, veered into the Cadillac head-on from the northbound lane. The impact pushed the Cadillac into the Jeep, causing damage.
Lufkin Police have released the name of the person killed in Wednesday night s 3-vehicle accident on Timberland Drive. The victim in last night’s fatality crash is identified as Ashley Huffhines, 34, of Lufkin.
The driver of the Cadillac Escalade is identified as Gabriel Galindo, 32, of Lufkin. His three children, ages 11, 9 and 7, were also in the vehicle.

The Galindo family was headed southbound on Timberland Drive in separate vehicles, attempting to turn left onto Nesbitt Avenue to go home. That is when Huffhines, who was traveling northbound on Timberland Drive in a Nissan Altima, veered into the turn lane, hitting the Cadillac head-on.
