Feb 8, 2021 Little Hocking area residents have a big opportunity brewing, as they await the demolition of the former Little Hocking Elementary School building, and the property’s eventual transfer into the hands of the Belpre Township trustees. According to trustee Asa Boring, that process should be completed by April. Once it is completed, the next step is input from the public as the trustees figure out how to create an envisioned sports and recreation complex on the property. Boring says the trustees are hoping to keep the four ball fields, with the help of local leagues; and that some trailers that will be left on the property could become an area for community meetings. The recreation center will be at the site of the former Little Hocking Elementary School, which is in the process of being demolished. The school was sold last year to the Belpre Township trustees as the facility was no longer being used. At the December meeting of the Warren Local School Board of Education, the contract for the demolition was awarded to Raze International Inc. of Shadyside at a cost of $325,190. ....
