De Silvestro celebrates first Super-G win at World Para Alpine Skiing World Cup

Friday, 5 February 2021 Rene de Silvestro achieved his first super-G win at the World Para Alpine Skiing World Cup after triumphing in Saalbach. The Italian was victorious in the men s sitting race after outpacing Jesper Pedersen of Norway by 1.13sec at the Austrian resort. This prevented crystal globe holder Pedersen from extending his winning streak to five races.  Akira Kano of Japan finished with bronze.  I m happy because the gap from the first place is really small, even if I admit that I could do something more, De Silvestro said.  The track conditions are really excellent and it s a fairly technical track, which suits my characteristics.
