Following a six-day journey across the highways of Arkansas, a 300-ton kiln from Italy found its "new home" Monday at a hazardous waste company in Gum Springs.
Over the last week, Arkansans have watched as the kiln was transported across the southern part of the state on a transport that was 220 feet long, 20 feet tall and 18 feet wide, according to officials with ARDOT.
Severe weather pounded parts of Arkansas and Oklahoma overnight, with a tornado touchdown confirmed in Roland by the National Weather Service and an Arkansas courthouse getting significant damage.Storms damaged the roof of the Crawford County Courthouse. Crawford County Emergency Manager Brad Thomas said there is significant damage in many places across the county, including downed trees and power lines which were blocking roadways. People from Arkansas and Oklahoma reported seeing storm damage in their neighborhoods.
