Israelis, including on the dialogue, and this is a mindset that is a very traditional one. Its not unique. Its not unique to this administration. Its been in every administration from truman until today. And one of the things i tried to highlight in the book, that perspective that sees that if you dont partner with israel, somehow youre better off, is one that i try to show analytically and repeatedly actually doesnt serve your interests. It doesnt serve your interests with the arabs. It doesnt benefit you there. It makes the israelis more suspicious and the behaviors frequently we dont want to see.
