April 28, 2021.Ned Gerard / Hearst Connecticut Media School districts in greater Bridgeport and the Naugatuck Valley are preparing for the upcoming expansion of COVID-19 vaccine eligibility for 12- to 15 year-olds. Similar to the plan laid out for those aged 16 and older in public schools across the state, many districts are either planning to offer vaccine clinics or are in talks about whether a youth-only clinic makes sense. In all cases, parents would have to sign consent forms for their child to be vaccinated and/or accompany their child. ....

In a video of a portion of the meeting, posted by the Valley Independent Sentinel on YouTube, the board confirmed it would accept the contract for Superintendent Michael Wilson for the 2020-21 school year and that it would accept Wilson’s resignation. ....
Reply Alan Scott Wilson, age 69, beloved husband of Karen A. Michel of Seymour, died peacefully on January 29, 2021, surrounded by his family in the comfort of his home. Born in New Haven on June 27, 1951, he was the son of the late Louis and Enid Burz Wilson. Mr. Wilson was raised in Ansonia and was a graduate of Ansonia High School. He was a proud U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, as well as a member of the David S. Miles Post, American Legion, Oxford. Mr. Wilson worked as a tractor trailer driver for the RiteWay Express Co., as well as other trucking companies, and prior to his illness, drove for Estes Expresslines for 13 years. He loved camping and, for 20 years, maintained a seasonal campsite at the Lone Oak Campground of East Canaan, CT. Together with his wife, Karen, they enjoyed many memorable cruises, Caribbean trips and visits to Central and South America. They celebrated their love for each other and for the Caribbean by getting married in Jamaica in 2000. Mr. W ....
