And this lecture series which is , about great military events, great commanders and sometimes great controversies in the art of war, has been ongoing since almost the beginning of my tenure 15 years ago. It has been our great series on the library. This is probably my last introduction, because i have been drafted by the president , so if you can identify with that, to go to washington to save the republic, which you know, needs saving. But as i always like to say, the command school is the intellectual center of the army. It is selfcritical, selfaware, it plays no favorites and is the best place to learn from the experience and history of the battlefield and with extraordinary teaching and technology, to learn from todays battlefields and commanders. Were really excited to have a speaker with us today. Her name is lori wallach and she is the director of Public Citizens global trade watch. Public citizen was founded in 1971 and is a nonprofit research, lobbying and litigation organization based in washington, d. C. Global trade watch is the newest of Public Citizens five divisions. Political constitutional relationship between the power and the authority of the British Parliament and americas colonial legislators . And over the course of about 12 years between 1764 and 1776, the British Parliament passed a series of laws. In 1764, it began with the sugar act and then a year later the stamp act and then in 17671768 the townsend acts and then the tea act and then the coercive acts and then in 1775 the prohibitory act. But standing behind all of these acts of british legislation was one overarching piece of legislation which i think was the driving force behind all of these particular acts. And that was the declaratory act of 1766 which claimed that parliaments authority extended to the american colonies in all cases whatsoever. And that meant that parliament was not only supreme over the colonies but in fact its power and its authority was absolut ....

Fog returns, cooler there is a big fog bank near monterey, the wind advisory starts tomorrow, temperatures drop, wendy for nearly everybody with low humidity and high fire danger wednesday afternoon and maybe even wednesday morning into thursday. The wind advisory will be for the north and east bay hills, and that starts tomorrow. It goes into thursday. Today is tuesday, today will be cooler, we will also have a high fire danger not for temperatures, it wont be hot but humidity will be low and the wind will be very strong. This system is digging into the north, it is a powerhouse system and we are on the western edge of it, cooler today with temperatures in the 70s in fact we are seeing temperatures dropping, napa down in oakland down, redwood city down, concorde as well.
