Winter weather advisory for knox, cedar, aelope, pierce, holt, clay sd , yankton, and lincoln counties this morning rain mixing with some snow and perhaps some sleet is moving across the viewing area this morning, so be sure to plan for a longer morning commute in anticipation of slick if not snowcovered roads and low visibilities. It will be east of the viewing area by arrund on today leleving us with indy anan cold weather with quite a few clouds overhead. See graphics. Wx timer 40 sioux city is trying to make it easier to navigate rail traffic through town. Last week we told you about a proposed plan to build a viaduct over it would begin at floyd boulevard and end east of the intersection of 18th street and steuben street. Once the viaduct is completed, the existing crossing would permanently close. The 11th street crossing would could also be closed, which is causing controversy among Business Owners. [laughter] how you got from the dummy to neurosurgeon, but guest everybody used to tease me and call me names, but, you know, my mother, and i think any success i have to contribute to god and my mother. Shes always seeking wisdom and came up with the idea of opening your eyes and looking around you, and she noticed that the homes that she cleaned people didnt watch a lot of tv no offense [laughter] and they read a lot of books. Guest and, you know, she looked at where we lived, she looked at where they lived, and somehow it clicked in her mind if i can get my boys to stop just looking at the all day long at tv all day long and start reading
When i tell people my story, they dont believe it. I guess i wouldnt believe the story if someone else were telling it, but im telling it. And its true. Every word of it. It started when i was born. 56 years ago. But the real story began when i was 19 years old when i went to college. It was 1980. It was the first day of school at Sullivan County Community College up in the catskills about 110 miles from where i grew up. So i drove up there alone. I at least had this really old car. It was a volvo and it was a 1970 volvo. Had like 130,000 miles on it. The car was burgundy and the hood was green. Actually, the car was called the old bitch. But the old bitch got me there. Sullivan was a Community College. This wasnt some Longstanding Institution of higher learning. All these station wagons are dropping kids off. I was nervous. I just got to the school. I didnt know anybody. I was a freshman. I was never the captain of the Football Team in high school. So i was never really like popular.
This week is Mental Health Awareness Week and the theme, appropriately as we approach the sporting summer, is "Movement: Moving more for our mental health."
