I would know I am one of them. Insurance companies tend to have someone on their team who works in special care planning, which in itself isn’t a bad thing, but that person is there to serve the parents and caretakers of children or adult dependents with disabilities. They often severely lack education on options specific to the adults in those categories who wish to have power over their own finances.
