Local roundup: Lebanon, Berlin boys hockey skate to 2-2 tie Aidan Yates Modified: 2/24/2021 10:42:58 PM WEST LEBANON The Lebanon-Stevens-Mount Royal and Berlin-Gorham boys hockey teams will stage a schedule-closing rubber match in their four-game season series this weekend after skating to a 2-2 overtime tie at Campion Rink on Wednesday night. The Mountaineers (11-1-1) haven’t lost since dropping a 3-1 decision to the Raiders (7-3-1) at Campion on Feb. 1. Berlin-Gorham leveled the set on Feb. 15 at Notre Dame Arena, 4-2. Game No. 3 saw the Raiders hold and lose a pair of one-goal leads before settling for the deadlock. Lebanon got the early start at 2:45 of the opening period on Hunter Christian’s first goal of the season, which Berlin’s Michael Cote Jr. equalized exactly six minutes later. Local roundup: Lebanon boys hockey finally gets to play Staff Reports Modified: 1/28/2021 8:04:09 PM LACONIA, N.H. The Lebanon-Stevens-Mount Royal boys hockey team finally opened its season on Thursday. The Raiders did just about everything but win. Despite an early two-goal lead and a 41-17 advantage in shots on goal, Lebanon dropped a 3-2 overtime decision to Belmont-Gilford in an NHIAA Division III contest at Merrill Fay Arena. Eric Ellingson capped B-G’s comeback with the game-winning goal at 2:32 of the extra session. Even with the defeat, Lebanon coach Jim Damren professed himself pleased with the night. Will McGee and Andrew Duany accounted for the Raiders’ goals, and Toby Cromwell made 14 saves in the Lebanon net.
