Chris Jackson is headed west.
The former Michigan State cornerback announced Thursday evening he is transferring to Washington State. The redshirt sophomore entered the transfer portal on Dec. 24 after not being part of the team at the end of the season.
Jackson had 10 tackles, including two for a loss, and one pass break-up in nine career games with two starts. The former three-star recruit from Georgia didn’t play while taking a redshirt as a true freshman in 2018 and appeared mostly on special teams in five games the following year. Max Rosenthal is staying in the Big Ten.
The former Michigan State fullback/tight end who entered the transfer portal on Dec. 21 is committed to Illinois.
Rosenthal, a redshirt junior, told MLive he committed to new Illinois coach Bret Bielema on Tuesday morning as a scholarship player and the program projects him at fullback/H-back. Bielema was named Illinois’ new coach on Dec. 19, replacing Lovie Smith.

The Michigan State redshirt sophomore cornerback entered the transfer portal, a program spokesman confirmed on Thursday.
Jackson had nine tackles, including two for a loss, and one pass break-up in four games this season. First-year coach Mel Tucker on Dec. 15 said Jackson was no longer with the team, ahead of the regular-season finale at Maryland that was canceled due to positive COVID-19 results for the Terrapins.
