dr. martin luther king jr. participants will leave san jose this morning and make it to san francisco in time for the big march and the parade. as you mention you may remember this service used to be called to the freedom train it ran for 30 years it was started by martin kings widow. it has since changed to the caltrain mlk celebration train it leaves this station at 9:45 stopping in palo alto and san mateo. the big celebration the king day march is at 11:00 this morning going from the san francisco caltrain station to the yerba buena gardens. here s the deal, for anybody wanting to ride on the train, it is a free service and it includes a return ride home for free as well, but you need a ticket. every passenger must have a ticket, the train can hold 1500 passengers. i did check the website, no tickets are available right now they have been given out and they are sold out. sandra osborne, kpix 5 some will celebrate with a day of service. if you want to volunteer you can go

reverend register green served walter memorial baptist church in northwest for more than 40 years. he says he applied some of king s philosophies to his own work. turner sat down with green who said king s outlook had a big impact on his life. he was a freedom writer when he first met dr. martin luther king jr. he tells me the day he got out of jail was the first time he met him. looking back at that experience, it was one of the best things that happened to me. he remembers it like it was yesterday. he was a college student preparing to study theology when he decided to become a freedom writer. protesting segregation at rail and bus terminals in the deep south. the philosophy at this point is no bail, jail, no bail. he spent close to two months in the mississippi state penitentiary because of it. this letter will probably relieve you. at 77 years behind bars to his parents. he and other freedom writers were invited to the ebenezer church to meet dr. king in atl
[000:00:59;00] police officer shooting at a suspect. wusa 9 s garrett haake, with more on what is happening. garrett, is it still unfolding? oh, shoot reporter: yeah, adam very much so. detectives still on the scene. quite a lot for first responders here to deal with in this condo community. here s what we know. police got to the scene. came to a call of a double shooting. when they got here, they confronted a man inside one of these townhouses. a witness here told me that at that man at one point came on the back of the home. he went back inside. at some point, fire broke out inside this condo building. it s unclear who started it or why. but eventually, police did go in. and a police officer shot that man, inside the home. he has since been taken to a hospital. along with two other people. if we believe, the people who are initially shot here tonight. i can tell you that the suspect, or the man who was shot by police officers, has died at the hospital, as we come ba
