As you mention you may remember this service used to be called to the freedom train it ran for 30 years it was started by martin kings widow. It has since changed to the caltrain mlk celebration train it leaves this station at 9 45 stopping in palo alto and san mateo. The big celebration the king day march is at 11 00 this morning going from the San Francisco caltrain station to the yerba buena gardens. Heres the deal, for anybody wanting to ride on the train, it is a free service and it includes a return ride home for free as well, but you need a ticket. Reverend register green served walter Memorial Baptist Church in northwest for more than 40 years. He says he applied some of kings philosophies to his own work. Turner sat down with green who said kings outlook had a big impact on his life. He was a freedom writer when he first met dr. Martin luther king jr. He tells me the day he got out of jail was the first time he met him. Looking back at that experience, it was one of the best things that happened to me. He remembers it like it was yesterday. He was a College Student preparing to study theology when he decided to become a freedom writer. Protesting segregation at rail and bus terminals in the deep south. The philosophy at this point is no bail, jail, no bail. He spent close to two months in the Mississippi State penitentiary because of it. This letter will probably relieve you.
