nearby drug store. when officers pulled them over, one of the men got out and fled. two officers used a police k-9 to track the man down, here, within the block. as they closed in to make an arrest, the suspect opened fire, shooting a weapon at the officers. they fired back. the man, who police say was in his early 20s, was fatally wounded. he has since died from his injuries. the two officers and the k-9 were not hurt. police are waiting to release the suspect s name until family has been notified. as part of procedure, te two officers involved in the shooting are now on paid administrative leave. the iowa division of criminal investigation is looking into the incident. police have not released any information about he two other suspects or the names of the officers involved. we will continue to follow this story throughout the morning. live forrest saunders, kcrg-tv9. a new york police officer is dead this morning after a gunman shot him during a chase in east harlem. ....
