Alvin Ing has passed away after contracting COVID, despite being fully vaccinated.
Representatives for the pioneering Asian-American actor and singer, 89, who starred in Broadway musicals Flower Drum Song and Pacific Overtures , tell Deadline Ing died on 31 July, 2021 at Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, California.
The actor was first diagnosed with pneumonia in mid-July and then confirmed to have COVID-19 a few days later, according to sources. He died two weeks later of cardiac arrest.
