Alvin Ing has passed away after contracting COVID, despite being fully vaccinated.
Representatives for the pioneering Asian-American actor and singer, 89, who starred in Broadway musicals "Flower Drum Song" and "Pacific Overtures", tell Deadline Ing died on 31 July, 2021 at Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, California.
The actor was first diagnosed with pneumonia in mid-July and then confirmed to have COVID-19 a few days later, according to sources. He died two weeks later of cardiac arrest.
