The J&K Police on Tuesday filed a chargesheet against youth president of Jammu and Kashmir People’s Democratic Party (JKPDP) Waheed-ur-Rehman Parra for his involvement in a case related to the alleged nexus between politicians and terror groups in the union territory.
Mirwaiz Led Hurriyat Concerned Over Health Reports Of Political Detainees
SRINAGAR: Hurriyat Conference (M) on Monday expressed concern about the health reports of Kashmiri political detainees in jails across India as COVID-19 pandemic rages to create havoc.
According to a statement, Hurriyat (M) said that as per family sources of prisoners, lack of even basic amenities inside the jails has led to serious health problems among the prisoners.
Quoting family sources of Advocate Shahid-ul-Islam who is in Tihar jail, the satteemnt said that he is very ill and showing all symptoms of COVID, including high fever but authorities are neither getting him tested nor taking him to the hospital.

The Hurriyat, headed by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, on Monday expressed concern over deteriorating health conditions of “political leaders” lodged in jails outside J&K and potential threat of contracting the novel coronavirus, in the wake of the fast spreading pandemic.
A Hurriyat spokesman said the Mirwaiz’s spokesman, Advocate Shahid ul Islam, who is lodged inside the Tihar Jail in New Delhi, was showing symptoms of the virus.
“Mr. Islam is very ill and is showing all symptoms including high fever. However, the jail authorities are neither getting him tested nor taking him to the hospital,” the spokesman alleged.
NIA recovers Rs 91 lakh drug proceeds of narco-terrorism in Samba

In the ongoing probe into the Handwara narco-terrorism case, the National Investigation Agency on Friday recovered Rs 91 lakh found concealed in a field in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir, an NIA spokesperson said.
The recovery was made on the disclosure of five persons, who were arrested on March 1 from Srinagar and Jammu and are presently on a 15-day remand, he said.
“Based upon examination and disclosure of arrested accused persons, the NIA conducted searches and recovered proceeds of narcotics smuggling to the tune of 91 lakh. The amount was found concealed in a field in Gurwal village in the jurisdiction of the police station Ramgarh (Samba),” the spokesperson said.
