thank you for joining us. this map highlights where people are likely to be affected by the public safety power shut off. in total 22,000 local pg&e customers could lose power. the shut offs are starting now in the north bay and three counties, napa, sonoma. it a fresh round for residents who lived through fires, smoke and other power outages. let s go to abc 7 news cornell bernard live in st. helena. reporter: dan and ama, if folks haven t been through enough, thousands could lose power again. it s in the name of safety but the timing is really tough. i m stocked up on batteries, flashlights, i have more flashlights, lanterns. reporter: she has what napa needs. i m here to service the community. reporter: she s assistant manager at outdoor supply hardware with a possible pg&e shut off hours away, most of the portable generators have sold out. this could do a refrigerator, couple lights. reporter: john was buying extra flashlight batteries and not happy about it

chance to pencil out if they put in 20% for low income and very low income. we have redevelopment dollars. if we wait for the state to give us redevelopment dollars, we will not do much. i believe we are all in this together. supervisors are meeting with city leaders and construction experts to chart a path forward. the fires destroyed more than 5000 homes in sonoma county alone. this is the first of several workshops that will be held. county leaders are discussing how to deal with the housing shortage. this morning they got a dose of reality from a builders group in the northbay. he told supervisors that rebuilding all the homes that were lost could take as long as a decade. a lot of fire victims may decide it is not worth it. the estimates i m getting from contractors architecturesã architects and developers are telling me we could have 35 to 40% of people that decide i m going to sell my lot and do something else. this is even up in fountain grove. people are taking th

dead. we will bring you more details as they become available. is go over to rosemary for a weekend a look at how the weekend is shaping up. there is a bit of a chill in the air. that has to do with the lack of wind. the wind in the hills died down last night. the national weather service did allow the wind advisory to expire. here is oakland. off to a chilly start for most. 32 degrees in santa rosa. after being in the 40s and 50s and unseasonably warm, we have some chilly weather to start your day. 49 degrees right now. this is a gorgeous start to the morning. 41 in oakland. low 40s in san jose. we are down by 9 degrees in concorde. along the pole and thought down by five. over the north bay, 10 to 13 degrees cooler than yesterday. getting into the afternoon, the cooldown will continue. we are looking at another system that will be dropping in and bringing the possibility, of slight chance of scattered showers to monterey. in any event, it may be a hit or miss sprinkle.

pulled into the parking lot about an hour ago. it felt like i was on the florida coast. a little bit humid on the estuary and we just aren t getting a chance to cool down. today will be a near repeat to yesterday. gear up. we ve got another hot and hazy one. get a load of the sun there. we have the smoke and haze with us still and it s going to continue as we get into your saturday afternoon. a lot of 100s coming our way. we broke several records yesterday, including the hottest day ever recorded. and the heat warning will expire at 9:00 p.m., coastline, san mateo coastline and monta ray monterrayey. for the coast, it s going to get a little bit better by tomorrow, and everybody else will follow suit as we get into monday. the red flag warning in place today, the very dry conditions, we have our hills with a little bit of wind and it s just enough for the national weather service to up the possibility of fire danger that will be with us through the afternoon. that doesn
