Expanding access to public transit eyed in Clinton County By Gary Huffenberger - [email protected] Katter WILMINGTON At the Wilmington Transit System (WTS), there’s interest in exploring the feasibility of extending passenger service to residents around Clinton County. A year ago Clinton County Community Action announced Allison Katter had been hired as Clinton County mobility manager, a new local position made possible by a community transportation initiative and an Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) grant. In her role, she’s responsible for increasing mobility and access to transportation for all residents of Clinton County. The first meeting in 2021 of the Coordinated Transportation Council was held virtually this week. Katter and new WTS Director Larry Dale Bennington spoke about the desirability of expanding public transit within the county. ....
Love for Ohio transit systems, riders Submitted article Ohio Loves Transit Week was Feb. 7-14, and to help promote the event, Clinton County’s Mobility Manager Allison Katter provided several transit agencies in Clinton County with several hundred gift bags for their riders. The bags contained masks, buttons, hand sanitizer and information about all transit providers within Clinton County. Clinton County Community Action also promoted the event via their Facebook Page with daily facts and reminders about why Ohio needs transit. Ohio Loves Transit is an annual event and creates awareness of need for transit. Every segment of Ohio – businesses, communities, individuals and families – benefit from public transportation.
