happened just after 10-30 last night. tv-9 s forrest saunders is live this morning at the scene of the shooting. forrest, what do we know about the situation so far? here s the latest from police. the three suspects inside the vehicle were believed to be involved in drug-related activity at a nearby dug store. when officers pulled them over, one of the men t out and fled. two officers used a police k-9 to track the man down, hhe, within tte block. as they closed in to make an arrest, the suspect opened fire, shooting a weapon at the officers. they fired back. the man, who police say was in his early 20s, was fatally wounded. he has since died from his injuies. the two officerer and the k-9 were noo hurt. police are waiaiing to release the suspect s name until family hasbeen notified. as part of procedure, the two officers involved in the shooting are now on paid administrative leave. the iowa division of criminal is looking into the incident. police have not released any info
