The Chester County District Attorney’s office, using a novel approach to try to hold polluters accountable, filed a consent decree with Mariner East pipeline builder Sunoco Pipeline and Energy Transfer following a civil suit the office filed under the Pennsylvania Clean Streams Law.
The law allows county district attorneys to bring public nuisance claims in order to stop polluting activities. The agreement allows the Chester County Court of Common Pleas to hold the company accountable for any future violations of permits issued by the Department of Environmental Protection and the Public Utility Commission. ....

MARYLAND Multiple people have been reported missing across Maryland in recent weeks. Among them are a man suffering from cognitive impairment and a teen who has not been heard from since she got into a ride-share vehicle.

Alfonso Bryan, 72, disappeared from Essex at 8 p.m. on Friday, April 9. He suffers from a cognitive impairment and needs medication, according to police. Officials said he was driving a silver 2016 Buick Encore with Maryland tags that say 1EM3902 and was wearing gray pants when he went missing from Stemmers Run Road. He is 6 feet, 1 inch tall and 170 pounds. Call the Baltimore County Police Department at 410-307-2020. ....
