Nominations sought for Jefferson Awards
LIMA Nominations are being accepted for the 2021 Jefferson Awards for Public Service.
The program recognizes those who give their time and effort through volunteering in their community.
Up to eight adults and four youth under 18 years old will be recognized locally, with one of them chosen to represent the area at the national Jefferson Awards dinner in Washington D.C.
Jefferson Award nominees will be chosen from Allen, Auglaize, Hardin, Hancock, Putnam and Van Wert counties.
Local high schools and colleges are encouraged to nominate students for the four youth awards.
Local winners will be recognized during a virtual event the week of April 19, which is National Volunteer Week. ....

like in the great lakes, that s what you get. lake-effect snow. the lakes are not frozen yet. and so it just provides moisture to add to the snow. and downtown cleveland already has a foot of snow on the ground from wednesday s surprise storm. that s nothing compared to what it s like in syracuse, new york, where streets and sidewalks still buried after a four-day pounding earlier this week. almost 5 feet of snow fell during a 98-hour stretch. we get a check of all the weather with reynolds wolf. it came early, and boy did they get a lot of it. it did. winter officially begins on the 21st of december, but they ve had the full brunt of it already. and some of the heavy snowfall in places we normal expect it, but it s been unusually high. now it s going to spread to places that haven t had a dose of winter weather yet. here s where it begins, in parts of the ohio valley, light snow and a little bit of sleet picking up, southward into charleston, west virginia, and b ....
