Krites honored with Rhodes State community leadership award

Jane Krites accepts the Rhodes State College Drs. Earl and Nancy Keese Community Leadership Award, becoming only the second person to receive the honor.
LIMA Jane Krites, known for her philanthropy and work as past CEO of the Appleseed Ridge Girl Scout Council, was recognized Friday for her community service and work as president of the Rhodes State College board of trustees.
Krites became the second person to be awarded the Rhodes State College Drs. Earl and Nancy Keese Community Leadership Award, joining Alberta Lee in recognition for their leadership and contributions to the college.

Nominations sought for Jefferson Awards
LIMA Nominations are being accepted for the 2021 Jefferson Awards for Public Service.
The program recognizes those who give their time and effort through volunteering in their community.
Up to eight adults and four youth under 18 years old will be recognized locally, with one of them chosen to represent the area at the national Jefferson Awards dinner in Washington D.C.
Jefferson Award nominees will be chosen from Allen, Auglaize, Hardin, Hancock, Putnam and Van Wert counties.
Local high schools and colleges are encouraged to nominate students for the four youth awards.
Local winners will be recognized during a virtual event the week of April 19, which is National Volunteer Week.
