The fires which are currently ravaging the amazon rain forest in brazil are prompting the leaders of france and ireland that they wont support a major trade deal with south america unless the president of brazil does more to bring the situation under control. Campaigners have blamed Jair Bolsonaro for the spread of the fires, which are threatening a major source of the worlds oxygen. While the places which are scattered widely across the amazon, most notably in the north of brazil, are the most intense in the region for almost a decade. The issue is due to be discussed at the g7 summit this weekend in france. But bolsonaro has criticised foreign governments or interference. James robbins reports.
