They are actually trying to put out any remain hot spots so that the investigators from the Alameda County Arson Task Force as well as atf can get in and start figuring out how this fire started. Before we knew it, the fire had spread to the elevator shaft on the opposite side of the building. And once it hit that, it just took off. We learned today several bay area Fire Departments are sending trucks and fire crews to the wall fire to help on the fire lines. Across california right now this are approximately 5,000 firefighters. Firefighters put out hot spots in rodeo where a brush fire burned near interstate 80. That fire started yesterday. There is no word on the cause of that fire. Lets head over to meteorologist Rosemary Orozco with a look at the hot conditions. Unrelenting heat out there this afternoon. Temperatures are going above 100 degrees for some of the hottest spots. Heat advisories for portions of the valley all the way from areas near redding down past modesto and it does include the area where firefighters are fighting that fire right now. 17 contained. Father and Daughter Killed in Fire That Police Link to Earlier Blaze and Homicide

On Saturday morning, police and firefighters were dispatched to a home in the 9500 block of Stearns Avenue following a report of an intentional structure fire. When authorities arrived, several people were still trapped inside. Firefighters extinguished the blaze and found the father and his 1-year-old daughter, Watson said. Family members who were injured in the blaze remain hospitalized. Oakland Fire Department arson Investigators preliminary investigation indicated the fire was intentionally set, she said, and they are continuing to investigate. Also contributing to the investigation are the Alameda County Arson Task Force and the Alameda County District Attorney s Office.
