The Walt Disney Company is launching Disney+ Hotstar in Malaysia on 1 June with Astro as the official distributor. Disney+ Hotstar launches with several iconic entertainment brands, including Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and National Geographic. At the same time, the company has entered into a series of multi-year agreements with Malaysian studios such as Skop Productions, Revolution Media Films, Primeworks Studios, WAU Animation, Act 2 Pictures, Les’ Copaque Production, and Red Films, among others, underpinning its support for the local film community.
According to Disney, the multi-year agreements mean Disney+ Hotstar will be the exclusive home to some of the upcoming blockbusters in Malaysia, which will skip theatres and launch straight on the streaming service. They include ....

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian film lovers will have much to celebrate come June 1, as the highly anticipated streaming service, Disney+ Hotstar will be launching in Malaysia.
This service will provide Malaysians with a variety of content from the likes of Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars and National Geographic.

Walt Disney Company is set to launch its Disney Plus Hotstar streaming service in Malaysia from June 1. The platform will boast a significant local content component in addition to the mainstay Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars and National Geographic brands.
The launch is being held in association with Astro, the country’s leading pay-TV platform. Consumers can also stream the service from the company’s website or download an app for mobile devices from the Android and iOS stores.

Direct subscribers can access the service for RM54.90 ($13.35) for three months, while Astro will offer package deals. Each registered account can support two concurrent streams, and the majority of content is available for download on mobile and tablet. ....

Disney+ Hotstar to start streaming in Malaysia on June 1

Disney+ Hotstar will be available in Malaysia on June 1.
It is priced at RM54.90 for three months, when subscribed directly from the app.
Alternatively, special packages are available with Astro, who is the official distributor.
According to a press statement, Astro’s Movies Pack customers can stream Disney+ Hotstar for an additional RM5 per month while non-Movies Pack customers can gain access via other promotions.
This news was announced during The Walt Disney Company Virtual Media Day today (May 4).
It was revealed that the app will be available for two concurrent streams, and the majority of content will be available for download on mobile and tablet. ....
