New Delhi, Mar 15 (UNI) The Modi Government has been deeply committed to the welfare and protection of Indians abroad, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar told the Rajya Sabha on Monday.
Making a statement on recent developments pertaining to the welfare abroad of Indians, NRIs and Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) in the Covid situation, the External Affairs Minister told the House that a huge collective effort by nameless and faceless individuals from Indian embassies and other organisations – in India and abroad - made that possible.
Informing that Air India operated more than 5,000 flights, 10.5 lakh passengers were brought back, Dr Jaishankar said.

New Delhi [India], December 28 (ANI): Union Minister V Muraleedharan on Monday termed as a futile exercise and sheer waste of public money the convening of Kerala assembly for a one-day special session on December 31 to discuss and pass a resolution against the three central farm laws.
Governor Arif Mohammed Khan on Monday gave his assent to convene a special session of the state Legislative Assembly on December 31 to discuss and pass a resolution against the new agricultural laws against which farmers are agitating at the Delhi borders.
