Vienna and we will be talking a little bit about that as we go forward. [switching captioners] we know who we are dealing with. This is a statesponsor of terrorism. This is a country that abuses human rights. That violates the Ballistic Missile area. We know all of that. But we are trying to prevent iran from becoming a Nuclear Weapon power, because we know that is a game changer in the region. Thats the objective of this agreement. And the standard that we have to use, because there is no trust in iran for us in iran the Supreme Leader on friday after the agreements were entered into today we will trample upon america. We dont trust iran but we have to leave emotion out of this. We have to look at the agreement, and determine whether the compliance with this agreement by the United States will put us on the path that takes it less likely or more likely that iran will become a Nuclear Weapon power. Thats got to be the test that we use. So mr. Chairman i have many questions that i hope
Zero breakout, and beginning industrialization in year eight. I dont agree with that characterization. Thank you mr. Chairman. Thank you for your testimony. I hope youll take these questions in the intirt they are given. Im not looking to play gotcha at all. I have been supportive of these negotiations, i come mend you all for the hard work that has been done. But there is some disagreement it seems with the text of the agreement as we read it and the explanation thats given, and let me just cover a couple of these points. Number 8 on adoption day here in the annex for the implementation plan. It says iron will inform the iaea, that they will apply the Additional Protocol pending ratification by the Iranian Parliament and will fully implement the modified code 3. 1. We we have talked about the agreement, although its volunteer to live by the Additional Protocol what happens if the Parliament First what is the timetable that is required for the parliament to address the the Additional P
Kerry about the consequences of Congress Voting down this deal. I heard the frustration that the idea is that there is no choice. In fact, i hear you say the opposite. I hear you say that this is not, in fact, a referendum on this deal. This is a choice between two set of consequences a set of consequences that flow forward if we arrive the deal, and then a different set that flows norward if Congress Rejects this deal. And so, as i look at that second set of consequences, that we have to be fully cognizant of, if the United States Congress Rejects this deal, i see it in five parts and i want to give this analysis to you, and ask you where i am wrong or right. First the sanctions are going to fray. Russians and chinese wont continue to sign on. And in time will fall apart. Second, they will resume full operation of the program it gets closer and closer to the break out time. Three,. It frankly ends for the next year and a half theres no legitimacy, with the clear indication that Congre
