The Crystal Cabin Awards were presented in Hamburg for the 11th time on Tuesday evening. The winners of the most famous and prestigious international prize for aircraft interiors, Delta Air Lines, Diehl, Global Eagle Entertainment, Vanema, the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (HAW) and twice Airbus, received their trophies in the Ball Room of the Hotel Atlantic Kempinski. More exciting than ever before – with Bombardier, United Airlines and Delta Air Lines, three international heavyweights went up against each other in the category for best “Cabin Concept”. The Crystal Cabin Award trophies are presented each year as part of the “Aircraft Interiors Expo” trade fair. The award, an initiative of Hamburg Aviation, was more international and more hotly contested than ever before in its eleven year history, with 85 submissions from 21 countries in 2017. On Sunday, Jan. 10, 2021, Carol Isaacs passed away at 81. Carol was born Sept. 14, 1939, in St. Louis, Mo., to Kenneth and Betty May Herwig. She graduated from Wilkes University with a bachelorâs degree in elementary education. She taught elementary English and reading for several years in the Wilkes-Barre School District. On Dec. 10, 1968, she married George Isaacs. They raised three children, Betty, Brian and Caroline, and were further blessed with six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Carol and George literally traveled the world together. Their voyages took them as far as China, Africa, the Caribbean, the Greek Islands and much of Mexico and Central America. They shared their zest for adventure with their children and grandchildren, sponsoring trips abroad for the entire family.
