It? we can accommodate it, but we ll nee a new crew, a new airplane. they re not nimble, and it s difficult to make decisions and to make appearances on the fly. they need time to plan. i want to be fair because i understand having been a govern governor, they have to submit plans, show their tables are sound and financially prudent. why don t they just tell the american public what the president is doing to them is absolutely a disruption to the marketplace and they can t move that fast because they have to retool their entire marketplace, change the actuarial tables. look what has happened. basically last summer, president obama said, okay, if you have your plan, you can kind of keep it, maybe, and so, you know, as you pointed out, really it s not up to president obama. it takes the state regulators and the insurance companies to ....

Say, hold on a minute. you didn t give us as many young people as you said you would. that means the following year, we might have to hike those premiums up. isn t that convenient that the insurance companies who stud actuarial tables the way i struggle with shirt-tie combinations are saying to the government, we are depending on you for the numbers. didn t they always anticipate that young people would sign up slowly and last because of their need for insurance and just general tendencies? yes, they absolutely did. if you look at what happened in massachusetts. we are told that there, young people signed up way towards the end. and the open enrollment period has not ended. it is possible between now and the end of march we ll have lots of young people come in, absolutely that s possible. if that happens, that s great. ....

Getting it. as we look ahead to 2014, what do you think we ll see with the president s signature legislation of the affordable care act? short run, likely more confusion. that s not good for enrollment. medium turn, i think we ll see a lot of insurance companies concerned about the acturial or soundness of what s being done and the third about the direction we ought to be going as a country. insurance executives don t want to publicly criticize the president but privately i hear conversations that they are pulling their hair out because every week something changes. they get their rates in place, the demographics in place. i don t think a lot of people understand that insurance companies have to look forward with actuarial tables to know what rates should be. talk about what happens when the president comes in, unexpectedly, and says we re ....

Republicans are their doctors or their plan republicans are counting on it for the political argument. this is president s signature domestic initiative he needs people to warm to it. it s health care. u got bad facts for the democrats and bad tactics. to be honest, they haven t done well and how it spun as well. that s on them. then you get to the bigger issue for the families. we will not know until we understand the poll. everybody that understands the actuarial tables say. that so you get into this looming problem. i don t understand, maybe you do. what do you do about this going ....

There is some evolvement of the private sector but 100% mandated by the federal government. so it s not the private sector and the free markets deciding what to offer and consumers freely deciding what to buy and the market working that way. so i think this whole web site debate is temporary. they ll figure it out. they ll get somebody in over time to figure it out. the problem is then you move onto the next problem. the right people aren t going to sign up. the actuarial tables aren t going to line up in a way. there can be a number of problems. but don t you agree, you can t both say that it was great for the federal government to get involved with medicare part d which you voted for and turn around and say it s horrible for the government to get involved in health care. you voted for an expansion of the health care system, didn t you? that was the biggest mistake i made. every senior watching this wants to thank you for that big mistake, sir. but the bottom line is that that ....
