An F-35A Lightning II fighter jet assigned to the 421st Fighter Squadron, Hill Air Force Base, Utah, takes off during Red Flag 20-1 at Nellis AFB, Nevada, Feb. 5, 2020. A recent ground test conducted at Nellis proved that Air Force personnel could safely and securely take data output from a flight test instrumentation system and convert the F-35’s data to communicate with mobile applications running on a connected commercial tablet. The test was part of the Fighter Optimization eXperiment (FoX), a project that seeks to rapidly integrate advanced software and hardware technologies to maximize the F-35’s lethality and survivability, while creating an agile development test tool and fielded combat multiplier for all DoD aircraft. Three-year-old Charlotte Hale has hundreds of seizures every day.
She was born with brain malformations and Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome, an extremely rare form of childhood epilepsy affecting an estimated two out of every 100,000 children, according to the National Organization for Rare Disorders.
Charlotte’s condition has required 24 hospital stays so far and five days a week of physical and speech therapy. Surgery is not an option due to the complexity of her brain malformations. Her story was first reported by local news station Fox2 Detroit. ....

Yet, when the latest assault was ultimately repelled, leaving one officer and a 25-year-old suspect dead, the familiar and increasingly glaring questions about the readiness of a traumatized U.S. Capitol Police force remained.
A laundry list of needs, laid bare in a recent review of the department following the Jan. 6 attack – in which a mob of then-President Donald Trump s supporters stormed the Capitol, killing USCP Officer Brian Sicknick and injuring nearly 140 other officers – was highlighted by a call to fill more than 200 vacant positions within a wheezing force in need of hundreds more, along with a revamped training program and intelligence gathering system. ....
