Olympic Torch will not visit hometown of Japan's first Olympic champion

The Olympic Torch will not now visit the hometown of Mikio Oda, Japan’s first Olympic champion, after a decision to change the format of the Relay given the current status of COVID-19 in Hiroshima Prefecture.
Originally it had been scheduled to visit Kaita on May 18 during a two-day stay in the region.
In 1928, Oda won triple jump gold in Amsterdam, the first Japanese athlete to return home with a gold medal.
By any standard, he was a remarkable athlete. He excelled in the jumps and was also a talented decathlete. In a superb career he competed in three Olympics and set 21 Asian records. ....

Us about what this experience means to you. this experience is amazing, for me it s really, this is the first race i did i when i came out of walter reed the first five miler that i ran and it was meaningful and now, working with wounded warrior project and seeing what the achilles organization is doing, we re really trying to encourage a lots of warriors to participate and promotes the achilles club promotes kind of a long-term life style of fitness and health so important. and it s great. dustin is with us, i want it talk with you. this is kind of an adaptive sport for you as well in this race. what are you doing and how are you competing? it s an adaptive sport, you ve got to learn a different way of keeping your cardio up and some of us that don t have legs, we have to do hand cycles or pushers and other ones that have lost a leg or still have their legs they learn to adapt to a different kind of running style. so your injury happened in 2004 and how has this kind of thing ....
