Jefferson City tied its best state finish in program history Thursday, defeating the St. Michael the Archangel Guardians 23-25, 25-18, 25-18, 25-19 in the Class 4 third-place match at the Show Me Center.
The Jefferson City Lady Jays turned it on when they needed it Wednesday night at Fleming Fieldhouse. The No. 2 seed Lady Jays sputtered in the third set of the Class 4 District 5 first-round matchup against the No. 7 seed Camdenton Lady Lakers, but they closed out the match with a huge run in the fourth set to pick up a 25-15, 25-21, 17-25, 25-12 victory.
