A Sunday to-do list: Turning plastic waste to park bench | Noida News

Noida: Residents of over 50 sectors and various voluntary groups will come together on Sunday to organise a city-wide plastic-free campaign in Noida. They hope to collect about 1,000 kg single-use plastic waste within a day that will be recycled as eco-bricks and used for various purposes. Led by a residents’ voluntary group ‘World Class Noida’, the campaign will focus on collecting single-use plastic waste, especially PET bottles, from various households. Organisers said that over 500 residents have signed up to join the campaign on Sunday from 15 societies. Abhisht Kusum Gupta, an organiser, said, “We also have our MP and MLA on board who said that they will join the campaign. While single-use plastic is banned, many people can still be seen using these, especially in the form of PET bottles and food packaging material.”
