We were there as crews finally got it out. Its called a bridge joint, a long piece of metal which this morning came loose, causing quite a mess on 395 eastbound near the downtown exit. We got a call that vehicles were running over something. Hatzel at least four cars got flat tires, others had damage to the undercarriage and rims. Highway patrol had to immediately close the highway, causing backups at one point that reached all the way to 87th avenue past the palmetto.
