New Delhi: The government on Thursday (February 25) said that OTT platforms are expected to ‘self-regulate’ and appoint a self-regulating body.
In a joint press conference by Union Electronics and Information Technology Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad and Union I&B Minister Prakash Javadekar, the Union ministers announced new guidelines to curb the misuse of social media platforms. When asked about OTT censorship, Prasad said, “we are trusting self-regulation” on OTT.
