Public Health Dorset figures showed the rate per 100,000 people in the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole area in the seven days to April 24 was 14.2. During the same period, the rate in the wider Dorset area was 12.2. Both rates are below the south west and England average of 15.2 and 24.5 respectively. A Public Health Dorset spokesperson said: “We expect to see small fluctuations week-on-week whilst we have relatively low transmission. Meanwhile, the rate in the rest of Dorset fell from 28.5 to 12.4 during the same period.
