Covid case rate more than halves in Dorset (but rises slightly in BCP)
THE Covid case rate across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole has risen slightly – but has more than halved in the wider Dorset area, latest weekly figures show.
Data released by health authority Public Health Dorset on Friday, April 9, showed the rate across the BCP area had increased from 17.2 per 100,000 people to 21.5.
Meanwhile, the rate in the rest of Dorset fell from 28.5 to 12.4 during the same period.
Public Health Dorset said: “We expect to see small fluctuations week-on-week whilst we have relatively low transmission. The number of COVID-related hospitalisations and deaths also remains low.”
