Christine, police say when think arrived at home this woman was hysterical . Reporter yeah, thats according to police who say they got a frantic call from the mother of this woman saying that her daughter was trying to kill herself with a i was sitting in my house i hear a gun shot. The woman lay shot in her stomach. A knife on the ground. There was a Police Officer they were kind of shaken up and then another Police Officer behind her. Reporter Weymouth Police said in a statement the officers responded to a call from the 46yearold womans frantic mother saying her daughter was trying to kill herself with a knife. The mother came out and said she just was trying to kill herself. Reporter police say they found the woman hysterical at her front door holding large knife which they say she refused to drop, ignoring commands even following an officer with the weapon before the officer fired. That he was student at a local elementary school. They are calling this a tragic accident. Crime tape separated a street after a woman was shot in weymouth. She was shot and under arrest. The officer says he was forced to shoot. Reporter right, julie, and police say this woman was hysterical and suicidal when they showed up. She refused to drop it and that is when the officer was forced to shoot her. We understand this womans mother called 911 saying they were threatening to kill herself and it all happened at a apartment complex early sunday morning.
