I m optimistic we could take action on cr quickly and avoid the shutdown neither side wants. reporter: congress still struggling to get a deal to fund the federal government. this is something that should have been done, according to the dea deadline, september 30th. they punted 12 appropriations bills to fund all federal agencies until this friday creating a new deadline of this coming friday. if they are unable to meet that deadline as well. they re expected to delay another week to give them more time to cut a large scale spending bill. the final number has not been decided yet. it could be around the range of $1.75 trillion. if they do get an agreement on that large bill, it will be unveiled, likely pushed through congress in a matter of days giving lawmakers very little time to review it. if they don t get a bill on that big bill, it will likely be punted into the new congress. ....
