Anatel clears 6GHz band for unlicensed Wi-Fi access in Brazil

Brazilian regulator Anatel (Agencia Nacional de Telecomunicacoes) has cleared a proposal that will see the 6GHz (5925MHz-7125MHz) frequency band opened for unlicensed Wi-Fi 6E access.
Anatel approved the proposal after determining that using the 6GHz band for Wi-Fi could generate tremendous economic value, with CommsUpdate forecasting that it could add as much as a colossal US$112.1 billion to Brazil’s GDP up to 2030.
According to the Dynamic Spectrum Alliance (DSA), many Latin American countries are considering a similar strategy to maximize the value of their spectrum with Argentina, Colombia, Costa Rica, Honduras, Mexico and Peru all expected to announce their plans for the 6GHz band this year. ....
