VADODARA: A whopping 1,451 persons have sought tickets for the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) polls from the BJP. The party held the process of hearing out workers as well as ticket aspirants on Monday and Tuesday.
Observers appointed by the state BJP for Vadodara took sense of party workers for 10 wards on Monday and the remaining nine wards on Tuesday. As many as 789 persons had sought tickets on Monday while 662 came forward on Tuesday.
With polls to be held for 76 seats as per the panel system, each seat has around 19 ticket aspirants. A senior party member said that the number was large as most expected the party to win the polls and saw an opportunity if they were given a ticket. He added that the number was expected and reflection of enthusiasm in the cadres. ....
