PH records lowest single-day tally of Covid-19 cases this year

The figure is higher than the 421 infections reported on Dec. 28, 2021 the last time the country saw the lowest three-digit daily new cases. It pushed the overall tally of confirmed infections to 3,663,920. The active cases went down 50,827 after 1,622 new recoveries were logged. About 474 of the active cases are asymptomatic, 45,862 are mild, 2,776 are moderate, 1,417 are severe and 298 are critical. Meantime, the total recovered cases increased to 3,556,589. "Of the 866 reported cases today, 757 (87 percent) occurred within the recent 14 days, February 17 to March 2, 2022," the DOH reported. The DOH case bulletin as of 4 p.m. showed 126,227 active cases, lower than the 136,436 the day before. At its peak this year due to the highly-transmissible Omicron variant, active cases reached 291,618 on January 21. Of the active cases, 4,864 are asymptomatic, 116,598 are mild, 3,008 are moderate, 1,447 are severe, and 310 are critical. The DOH also reported 18,431 new recoveries, pushing the number of those who recuperated from the disease to 3,428,815, or 95 percent of the overall 3,609,568 count since the pandemic began in March 2020. A total of 312 fatalities raised the death toll to 54,526. MANILA - The Department of Health (DOH) on Saturday tallied 7,689 new SARS-CoV-2 (severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2) infections, the fifth straight day below the 10,000-mark. The latest case bulletin showed a total of 136,436 are undergoing treatment for coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), down from the 291,618 peak recorded on January 21. Of the active cases, 7,069 are currently asymptomatic, 124,476 are mild, 3,106 are moderate, 1,468 are severe, and only 317 are critical. The DOH also reported 22,539 new recoveries, pushing the number of those who recuperated from the disease to 3,410,821, or 94.7 percent of the overall 3,601,471 count since the pandemic began in March 2020. MANILA - The Department of Health (DOH) on Sunday reported 27,638 recoveries and 16,953 new coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) infections. The latest Covid-19 bulletin indicated 202,604 active cases while total recoveries rose to 3,288,925 or 92.8 percent of 3,545,680 infections since the pandemic started in March 2020. Out of the active cases, 185,550 are mild, 3,176 are moderate, 11,277 are asymptomatic, 1,534 are severe, and 327 are critical. "Of the 16,953 reported cases today, 16,647 (98 percent) occurred within the recent 14 days - Jan. 17 to Jan. 30, 2022," the DOH reported.
