MANILA - The Department of Health (DOH) on Sunday reported 27,638 recoveries and 16,953 new coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) infections. The latest Covid-19 bulletin indicated 202,604 active cases while total recoveries rose to 3,288,925 or 92.8 percent of 3,545,680 infections since the pandemic started in March 2020. Out of the active cases, 185,550 are mild, 3,176 are moderate, 11,277 are asymptomatic, 1,534 are severe, and 327 are critical. "Of the 16,953 reported cases today, 16,647 (98 percent) occurred within the recent 14 days - Jan. 17 to Jan. 30, 2022," the DOH reported. The regions with the most cases in the recent two weeks were the Western Visayas with 2,000 infections or 12 percent, National Capital Region (NCR) with 1,967 or 12 percent, and Calabarzon with 1,871 or 11 percent of the new infections.
