watch live One only has to look at decisions which shifted hundreds of thousands of dollars unfairly to a small group of homeowners for a storm drain project. One only has to look at paying a contractor for hauling away hundreds of thousands of dollars of black dirt that resulted from poor estimates made on the Sheyenne Street project. One only has to look at spending nearly $200,000 on “no parking” signage that never even was approved by the city commission; but rather determined by staff and a commissioner to fall under their authority to spend. These are the kind of decisions that make the current city commission look as though any and all errors, omissions, and judgements made by them are infallible and have a justifiable reason to be made. It’s time to stop the feel-good decisions and start taking actions as though the money is your own and not some slush fund to spend at your choosing.

WEST FARGO The City of West Fargo will buy five homes along the 500 block of Sheyenne Street North for about $1.5 million with plans to raze the homes, use the land temporarily for parking and later sell it as an initiative for development.

Special Assessment Commission holding public meeting for preliminary review of north Sheyenne Street corridor reconstruction

  The City of West Fargo Special Assessment Commission will hold a public meeting at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 18, virtually to discuss preliminary special assessment allocations plans for the north Sheyenne Street corridor reconstruction project. This project is scheduled for the 2021 construction season. During this meeting, the Special Assessment Commission will hear from City of West Fargo staff regarding initial project estimates that include estimated construction costs and discuss cost allocation plans. Information to join the meeting is available on the www.westfargond.gov calendar. The project aims to replace aging infrastructure in the area that the core area infrastructure master plan study identified in the fall of 2019. This includes improvements to water mains, sanitary sewer and storm sewer throughout the corridor that either is approaching the end of its service life or is undersized.
