IPOH, Apr 1 Residents of Lim Garden here and a group of farmers from Kanthan, Chemor have objected to the rezoning of a plot here from agricultural to industrial use for the establishment of the Silver Valley Technology Park.

NCER spearheads socio-economic recovery in Perak via digital, tech industries

KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 26): The Northern Corridor Implementation Authority (NCIA) has increased collaborative efforts with the Perak government to drive the growth of knowledge-based digital and other critical industries impacted by the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic to resuscitate the state s socio-economic recovery.
This will be achieved through the implementation of high-impact projects, strategic investments and integrated human capital programmes as outlined in the Northern Corridor Economic Region (NCER) Strategic Development Plan (SDP) 2021-2025, it said in a statement today.
Silver Valley Technology Park (SVTP) is a sustainable catalytic project that will pave the way for Perak to become the leading Digital Technology Park in Southeast Asia, it said. ....

IPOH, Dec 18 The Perak State Legislative Assembly today unanimously approved the state’s budget for 2021.
The Perak State Budget 2021, which involves an allocation of RM1.215 billion, was debated for one day by six representatives from the government and six from the Opposition.
A total of RM430.0 million has been allocated for the development expenditure while the remaining RM785.1 million from the budget is for the management cost. ....

Perak state budget unanimously approved at assembly

From the RM1.2bil budget, RM430mil has been allocated for expenditure development and RM785.1mil for management costs.
In his winding-up speech, Saarani said the budget had been planned after taking into account the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.
“The projects and programmes planned for next year will emphasise economic recovery, as well as a focus on reducing the impact faced by various sectors and groups, ” he said.
Saarani added that the state government would also develop a long term plan to revive the post-Covid-19 economy.
He said a 10-year plan (2021-2030) would emphasise sustainability and inclusive development to revive the economy. ....
