2 shootings reported in Greenville County in less than 12 hours
The Greenville County Sheriff s Office is investigating two shootings since Monday night, Lt. Ryan Flood said Tuesday morning. Investigators say the shootings are unrelated.
On Tuesday morning, deputies received a 911 hang-up call around 7:25 a.m. that came from Intown Suites on Mauldin Road, according to a press release from the Sheriff s Office. When deputies arrived, they located a man in the motel parking lot suffering from at least one gunshot wound, according to Flood.
Preliminary reports indicated that the shooting followed an altercation, Flood said.
The victim was transported to the hospital, and no information on his condition was available from the Sheriff s Office as of 9:20 a.m. Tuesday.

The crash happened at 5:44 a.m. on Mauldin Road near Chalmers Road, troopers said. That is near the on-ramps for I-85 at Mauldin Road.Troopers said a 2013 Chrysler hit the person and the person died on the scene. The coroner has identified the victim as 67-year-old Steven Penton.
