Announced as temporarily closed and hoping to return to the Venetian later this spring, The Halal Guys and 7 Leaves Cafe will instead be replaced by two San Francisco imports already under construction at the Grand Canal Shoppes food court.
The third local outpost for New York food cart favorite The Halal Guys arrived at the resort two years ago, sharing the 1,152-square-foot counter-service space with 7 leaves Cafe.
Predicting a spring debut, Fire of Brazil Express will now replace the gyros and rice menu with a fast-casual collection of churrascaria-inspired grilled meats and lunch bowls, featuring cuts of beef, pork, and chicken served with sides including paella, rice, feijoada, and fried plantains, plus a roster of Brazilian sodas.
The Museum of Dream Space features five rooms to explore and take imaginative photos.
The Museum of Dream Space (MoDS), a multimedia art gallery, has opened its first location outside of California in the Grand Canal Shoppes at the Venetian Resort Las Vegas.
With six rooms filled with interactive technology, MoDS promises to transport guests into what it calls unique dreamscapes, designed for guests to capture distinctive images for social media posts. They include the Gold Room, made up of abstract gold finishes, and the Moon Room. Vibrantly colored bulbs seem to float in another room.
The concept is inspired by art design from Yayoi Kusama, famous for designing rooms that appear to be infinite, and the development of digital art. Matteo Ferdinandi and chef Angelo Auriana, the team behind Eater 38 memberMatteo’s Italian Ristorante at the Venetian, close Sixth + Mill at the Grand Canal Shoppes and convert the space with an indoor patio into Brera Osteria, opening in mid-February.
The restaurant on the resort’s replica of St. Mark’s Square takes its name from the Brera neighborhood in Milan, Italy. The restaurant plans to serve dishes such as a braised pork shank, cacio e pepe, and lamb chops.
The duo already has Brera Ristorante in Downtown Los Angeles, where the late Jonathan Gold, former food critic at the Los Angeles Times, recommended the farinata, a crepe that’s both soft and crunchy, to go with a Negroni.

Moving into a new year is certainly something worth rejoicing, and never more so than this year. To help us celebrate, our local brewers have come up with several unique, creative brews to help herald in 2021.
CraftHaus continues to be one of the Las Vegas Valley’s most creative and distinctive breweries, and head brewer Cameron Fisher has now brought us Wundernutz!, an Imperial Brown Ale with vanilla and hazelnut coffee offering a huge toasted hazelnut aroma with a vanilla tsunami and a bold, roasted coffee finish.
Former Joseph James head brewer Kyle Weniger is now a “nomad” brewer (a contract brewer who travels to a functioning brewery to produce one-off beers) going by the name of JuxtaNomad. One of his brews now pouring is Scene Kids Sour Dessert IPA with toasted coconut, macadamia nuts and graham cracker, on tap at Scenic Brewing.
