Mexico s National Seismological Service (SSN) reported a magnitude 4.2 quake in Mexico near Ayutla de los Libres, Guerrero, only 22 minutes ago. The earthquake hit early morning on Wednesday 5 May 2021 at 3:10 am local time at a moderately shallow depth of 35 km. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Our monitoring service identified a second report from the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) which listed the quake at magnitude 4.2 as well.

A magnitude 4.2 earthquake near Playas, Provincia del Guayas, Ecuador, was reported only 24 minutes ago by the Institute of Geophysics of the National Polytechnic School in Quito (IGEPN), considered the main national agency that monitors seismic activity in this part of the world. The earthquake occurred at a shallow depth of 14 km beneath the epicenter early morning on Wednesday 5 May 2021 at 2:02 am local time. The exact magnitud
