In another sign of a return to normalcy for the NFL, holdouts could again be a part of the summer storylines.
Granted, holdouts don t have as much teeth as in past years thanks to the new collective bargaining agreement. That still didn t stop mini-holdouts from the likes of Dalvin Cook and others last year, though and they remain a way for a player to voice frustration or flex leverage. Keep in mind, no team wants a Kirk Cousins situation on its hands.
The likeliest holdout candidates this summer are superstar players merely seeking top-tier deals near the end of current contracts. Individual situations such as injury histories or past relationship bumps help formulate the rankings.

We re in the midst of the 2021 NFL offseason, and the start of 2022 free agency is a long way away. However, it s not too early to look ahead at the players likely to be available.
You can bet teams are eyeing potential 2022 free-agent targets, while players are anticipating big paydays. Some players, though, have work to do to draw the interest of teams and maximize their value.
We ll examine eight players who are scheduled to hit the open market next year but have plenty to prove this season. Whether they re trying to reestablish themselves as starters, overcome injuries or prove that prominent past production was no fluke, they have plenty riding on the 2021 regular season.
Buccaneers Tom Brady recovering very well from knee surgery By Zac Wassink | Last updated 4/1/21
In early March, Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady confirmed that he underwent surgery to repair an issue with his left knee. I actually had knee surgery, so I’m kind of rehabbing now, which is giving me something to do, although I’d much rather be kind of staying active like I normally do, Brady said at that time.
Buccaneers general manager Jason Licht gave a positive update on the seven-time Super Bowl champion on Thursday. I talked to him last week, Licht explained, per Jenna Laine of ESPN. I know things are going well. I don t want to put an exact timeline on it right now because I don t want to set expectations one way or the other, but I know that things are going very well.

Packers interested in former Patriots center David Andrews, per report
The Packers need a center, and Andrews is one of the best available.

Andrews started 12 games at center for the Patriots in 2020 and has been a consistent presence on New England’s offensive line since he signed there as an undrafted free agent following the 2015 NFL Draft.
The Packers are in the market for a center after Corey Linsley’s lucrative departure in free agency. Volin doesn’t carry quite the same reputation as Linsley, but has been solid in New England, starting 69 games since 2015. Pro Football Focus charged him with two sacks allowed in 2020.
